Som Tam Salad

  • 200g Green Papaya, shredded
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • Half a Tomato
  • 3 regular Green Beans
  • 15g Roasted Peanuts
  • 2 fresh Red Chilies
  • 1 Lime
  • 15g Palm Sugar
  • Soy Sauce to taste


  • Cut the green beans in 2cm pieces and put in a mortar with the garlic and chilies
  • Pound it gently to break the ingredients
  • Add the sugar, lime juice and soy sauce
  • Cut the tomato into 4 pieces and add into the mortar
  • Add the shredded green papaya
  • Mix the ingredients with a spoon by turning them from the bottom to the top
  • Repeat until the salad is well mixed
  • Taste and adjust, if necessary
  • Add the roasted peanuts and mix all together
